This reconditioned DSG 7 gearbox is designed for the Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI with a 1598 cm³ engine, under reference QHU. Reconditioning involves a full strip-down of the gearbox, thorough cleaning and inspection of every internal component, followed by replacement of all wear parts including gears, synchros, bearings and seals. The gearbox is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch. This rigorous process ensures reliable performance from the QHU gearbox once fitted to your Golf.

Several warning signs should alert the driver of a Golf 1.6 TDI fitted with this dual-clutch automatic gearbox:

This reconditioned QHU gearbox is supplied on an exchange basis: the reconditioned unit is dispatched first, so the workshop is never left without a gearbox or forced to immobilise the vehicle. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

What Is Included with This Gearbox

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: this component is not supplied or included in the sale, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and the original unit from your vehicle should be reused. However, the dual-clutch assembly is included with this reconditioned gearbox.

This QHU gearbox is compatible with engines identified by the codes CAYB, CAYC, CLHA and CRKB, fitted to the Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI.

Warranty and Payment

This reconditioned gearbox comes with a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
