This reconditioned DSG 7 gearbox is specifically designed for Volkswagen Polo models fitted with a 1.6 TDI engine of 1598 cm³, under reference NQM. Reconditioning involves a complete strip-down of the gearbox, followed by thorough cleaning and inspection of every component; any gears, synchros, bearings and seals showing signs of wear are then replaced, before the unit is reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and tested on a bench.

Signs That Your DSG 7 Gearbox Needs Replacing

On a Polo 1.6 TDI fitted with this dual-clutch automatic gearbox, several signs point to advanced wear: juddering or jolting during gear changes, slipping under acceleration, harsh or delayed gear shifts, the gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard, a metallic noise in park or neutral, or a noticeable loss of power from the moment you pull away. A gearbox-specific warning message accompanied by the vehicle entering limp mode should also alert the driver.

Exchange Basis: The Reconditioned Gearbox Is Dispatched Before Collection of Your Old Unit

Under this exchange arrangement, the reconditioned NQM gearbox is dispatched to the garage first. The old gearbox — casing and block intact — is only collected after the new unit has been delivered and fitted, ensuring the workshop is never left without a part and the vehicle is not left off the road. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Compatibility

This reconditioned DSG 7 gearbox, OEM reference NQM, is compatible with Volkswagen engines bearing the codes CAYB and CAYC.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: it is neither reconditioned nor tested and remains the vehicle's original unit, to be reused by the customer. The dual-clutch assembly, however, is supplied new with this gearbox.

Warranty and Payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment for this gearbox can be spread over several instalments, with up to 10 instalments available.
