This reconditioned gearbox is designed for the Volkswagen Transporter fitted with the 2.0 TDI engine (1968 cm³), compatible with engine codes CAAA, CAAB, CAAC, CFCA, CXFA, CXGA, CXHA and DJKA, under reference KUP. It is a 6-speed manual gearbox, fully stripped down, cleaned and inspected before reassembly. Any worn gears, synchros, bearings and seals are replaced, and the unit is then rebuilt to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested before dispatch under reference KUP. It offers a reliable alternative to a new part for a van that is often put to heavy professional use.

Signs that your gearbox needs replacing

On a Transporter used daily for carrying loads, wear on the 6-speed manual gearbox typically shows itself through the following symptoms:

• stiff or crunching gear changes, particularly on the lower ratios;

This gearbox is sold on an exchange basis: the reconditioned unit is dispatched first, so the garage can keep working and the vehicle does not have to sit idle while waiting for the old unit to be returned. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned gearbox has been delivered and fitted to the Transporter. Return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
