It is a 5-speed manual unit fitted to 1968 cm³ engines identified by engine codes CAAA, CAAB, CAAC, CFCA, CXFA, CXGA, CXHA and DJKA, under reference LRS. The reconditioning process involves a full strip-down, thorough cleaning and inspection of every component. Internal wear parts such as gears, synchromesh rings, bearings and seals are replaced, and the unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances before undergoing a bench test.
