This reconditioned gearbox is designed for the Volkswagen Transporter fitted with the 2.5 TDI engine (2461 cm³), compatible with engine codes AXD, AXE, BNZ and BPC, reference FXW. It is a 6-speed manual gearbox – a unit that takes considerable punishment on this van, used day in, day out for carrying loads, which accelerates wear on the internal components over time. Once reconditioned, this FXW gearbox is restored to full factory-standard operation.

Reconditioned means the gearbox is completely stripped down, cleaned and inspected component by component; gears, synchromesh rings, bearings and seals are replaced according to the wear found, and the unit is then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances before bench testing to verify that every gear engages correctly.

This FXW reference gearbox is sold on an exchange basis: it is rebuilt to 0 km and dispatched without waiting for the return of the old unit. The garage can therefore fit the reconditioned gearbox straight away, without the vehicle being kept off the road waiting for a return. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after the reconditioned unit has been delivered and fitted; return of the old unit is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
