From D27DT to D20DTR: SsangYong diesel engine codes from 2012 to 2017

Before searching for a part for a SsangYong, the engine code is the essential starting point. Across the diesel range covered here — exclusively Xdi and XDi units — four codes are shared across the vehicles: D27DT, D27DTP, D20DT and D20DTR. The D27DT fits the 2.7 Xdi (163 and 165 hp) as well as the 2.7 XDi and 2.7 D. The D27DTP is found exclusively on the 2.7 XDi and 2.7 D. The D20DT corresponds to the 2.0 Xdi, whilst the D20DTR is specific to the 2.0 XDI. The same engine capacity can therefore conceal two distinct codes depending on the exact variant: checking the engine plate before placing any order avoids compatibility errors.

Turbos and gearboxes: what the collection covers

The SsangYong collection covers five turbos and one 6-speed manual gearbox. The turbos are available new or as a rebuild of your own unit; the gearbox is available as a rebuild of your own unit only. The models concerned are the Rexton, the Kyron, the Rodius and the Actyon, all produced between 2012 and 2017. The Rexton accounts for the greatest number of available references, particularly on the turbo side, covering both engine capacity families. SsangYong 2.7 turbos carry cross-references with or without the prefix A (for example: 6650900480 / A6650900480) — a detail worth noting when identifying the original part on the invoice or the removed turbo.

Narrowing your search by engine and sales type

For a 2.7 Xdi (D27DT or D27DTP), a wide range of turbo references is available, covering several power variants. For a 2.0 Xdi (D20DT) or 2.0 XDI (D20DTR), the collection is more limited. In all cases, the sales type differs depending on the part: turbos can be supplied new or rebuilt from your own returned turbo, whereas the 6-speed manual gearbox (reference 3102032011) is available as a rebuild of your own unit only — your gearbox is reconditioned and returned to you.
