What changes behind the wheel of your Audi A4 with a healthy turbo
On an Audi A4 1.9 TDI, a properly functioning turbo makes itself felt immediately: crisp throttle response from low revs, no flat spot under acceleration, and a smooth engine note free of any abnormal whistling. By contrast, a worn turbo shows itself through a gradual loss of power, blue or black exhaust smoke, excessive oil consumption, and sometimes an engine warning light. Fitting a new turbo to your A4 restores factory performance levels and reliable everyday running.
Compatibility with Audi A4 1.9 TDI engines
This new turbo is compatible with Audi A4 models fitted with the 1.9 TDI engine, in particular units identified by engine codes 1Z, AHH, AHU, AFN, AVG, ATJ, AJM, AVB and BKE, with an engine capacity of 1896 cm³. Before ordering, it is strongly recommended that you check the reference printed on the label of your original turbo, as several variants may have been fitted depending on the version and production period of your vehicle.
Exchange basis and warranty for this Audi A4 turbo
This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of your old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Audi A4 is not left off the road during the process. The turbo is covered by a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
Advice before and after fitting on your A4
On 1.9 TDI engines, premature turbo failure is often caused by insufficient lubrication, poor-quality oil, or missed oil change intervals. A clogged air filter or a damaged intercooler can also impair turbocharger performance. Before fitting, the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses, and the cleanliness of the air intake should all be checked. On first start-up, priming the new turbo with oil is essential to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings and to extend its service life.
