This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Audi A4 is not left off the road during the process. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.
Common causes of failure and fitting advice for the 2.0 TDI
On these 2.0 TDI engines, the majority of turbo failures stem from inadequate lubrication caused by poor-quality engine oil, missed oil changes, or a clogged air filter disrupting the air intake. A blocked or cracked intercooler, as well as habitually pushing the turbo hard from a cold start, also accelerate compressor wear. Before fitting, carefully inspect the oil circuit, the condition of the air intake hoses, and check for any leaks at the manifold. When starting the engine for the first time, prime the turbo with oil to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings from the very first revolutions.
