This turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, but it is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your Golf R is never left off the road unnecessarily. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.
Advice before fitting on a Golf R 2.0 TSI
On a high-performance engine like the Golf R's, turbo longevity depends heavily on the quality and freshness of the engine oil, adherence to oil-change intervals, and the condition of the air filter and intercooler. Driving that combines hard acceleration with sudden stops – without allowing the turbo to cool down – can accelerate wear. Before fitting the new turbo, check the oil circuit, hoses and air intake for any contamination or leaks. Also prime the turbo with oil before the first start-up, to ensure the bearings are properly lubricated from the moment the engine fires.
