It is sold on an exchange basis, rebuilt to restore smooth gear changes and reliability comparable to a new gearbox, whilst minimising vehicle downtime.

Signs That Your DSG Gearbox Needs Replacing

Several symptoms indicate advanced wear on this DSG 7 gearbox: juddering or jerking during gear changes, slipping under acceleration, the automatic gearbox warning light illuminated on the dashboard, delayed or harsh gear shifts, a clunking noise in position D or R, or the gearbox entering limp mode and limiting engine revs. These symptoms most commonly point to internal wear of the gearbox's mechanical components and warrant replacement before the fault worsens and causes damage to other parts.

Reconditioned Gearbox on an Exchange Basis

This gearbox, reference MPP, is fully reconditioned: it is completely stripped down, cleaned and inspected, with internal wear components such as gears, synchros, bearings and seals replaced, then reassembled to manufacturer tolerances and bench-tested prior to dispatch. The reconditioned MPP gearbox is dispatched first so the vehicle can be fitted without delay, ensuring the garage is never left without a part and the vehicle is not off the road. The old gearbox, with its casing intact, is only collected after delivery and installation of the reconditioned unit; its return is required in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

This gearbox is sold without the mechatronic unit: this component is not supplied or included in the sale, it is neither reconditioned nor tested, and remains the vehicle's original unit, to be reused by the customer. The dual-clutch assembly, however, is supplied new with this gearbox.

Warranty and Payment

This reconditioned gearbox is covered by a 24-month parts warranty, subject to fitting being carried out by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over several instalments, in up to 10 instalments.
