Reconditioned IVECO 35C Engine

On the IVECO 35C, the same 2.3 Multijet can conceal four distinct engine codes depending on the year and emissions standard

This is the classic pitfall with this van: engine capacity alone is not enough to order the correct block. The 2.3 Multijet alone covers five references in this collection — F1AE0481B, F1AE0481GA, F1AE3481B, F1AGL411G and F1AGL411L — corresponding to successive Multijet generations adapted to Euro 4 and then Euro 5 standards. These codes are stamped on the block on the timing side and are the only reliable reference for ordering the correct part. Mixing up an F1AE0481B with an F1AE3481B can render the engine incompatible with the existing ECU.

2.8 TD and 3.0 Multijet: two families not to be confused with the 2.3

The 2.8 TD (codes 8140.43C and 8140.43R) is an earlier architecture with indirect injection, found on versions produced before 2006; its design differs fundamentally from the common-rail Multijet. The 3.0 Multijet (code F1CFL4117) is fitted to high-payload versions and features a crankshaft and block of larger dimensions, incompatible with the 2.3 engine mounts. On a 35C produced between 2006 and 2019, checking the engine code before doing anything else avoids ordering a part that does not match the vehicle's actual engine.
