The engine designation on the spec sheet alone is therefore not enough: it is the engine code stamped on the block that determines the exact manufacturer reference.

Some codes appear under several different power outputs, meaning the same code can coexist with 110 hp or 136 hp depending on the model. The direct consequence: output alone is not sufficient to select the correct reference. Only the combination of model + engine code allows the data to be cross-referenced without ambiguity. Failure causes to be aware of before replacement

On diesel engines of this capacity, turbo deterioration is often linked to degraded engine oil or progressive fouling of the lubrication circuit. A worn CHRA typically makes itself known through an abnormal whistling noise under acceleration, persistent blue smoke from the exhaust, or a noticeable loss of performance. Fouling of the EGR valve or the diesel particulate filter can also generate insufficient intake pressure and hasten failure of the actuator or the bearings. Addressing the root cause before replacement is essential: fitting a new turbo without correcting an oil seal issue or a faulty air circuit will lead to premature failure of the part.
