Why does the turbo fail on the Peugeot 207 1.6 HDi?

On the Peugeot 207 fitted with the 1.6 HDi, the variable-geometry turbocharger is put under considerable strain: the movable vanes that regulate boost gradually become clogged with carbon deposits until they seize, causing a loss of power. Missed oil changes, oil that does not meet manufacturer specifications, or a blocked air filter all accelerate wear on the bearing and bushings, while a fouled EGR valve or a poorly maintained intake system further hasten turbo deterioration on this engine. On these diesel units, the early warning signs are a drop in power under acceleration, an unusual whistling noise, exhaust smoke, or excessive oil consumption.

New turbo compatible with the Peugeot 207 1.6 HDi

This new turbo is compatible with reference 753420-5006S and is intended for Peugeot 207 models fitted with a 1.6 HDi of 90 or 110 hp — 1560 cm³ diesel engines carrying the codes 9HS, 9HV, 9HX, 9HY or 9HZ. Before placing an order, we recommend checking the reference printed on your old turbo or on the vehicle's identification plate to confirm exact compatibility with your 207.
