Identifying the correct turbo reference for your Skoda Superb
Before placing an order, the first step is to identify precisely the reference printed on the label of your existing turbocharger fitted to your Skoda Superb. This check is essential, as several variants of the 2.5 TDI V6 turbo were used on this model depending on the production period and engine output. This new turbo is compatible with reference 454135-5010S, a part widely used on the first-generation Superb.
Compatible engines on the Skoda Superb
This new turbo is compatible with the 2.5 TDI V6 diesel units of 2496 cm³ fitted to the Skoda Superb I, producing 150, 155 or 163 hp depending on the version. The engine codes concerned are AFB, AKN, AYM, AKE, BAU, BCZ, BDG, BDH, BFC and BND. These 6-cylinder V6 engines were renowned for their generous torque, which places considerable strain on the turbocharger, particularly during repeated cold starts or short journeys. We recommend that every buyer compares the reference on their original turbo with those listed below before confirming their order.

Fitting advice for your Superb
On the Superb's V6 TDI engines, premature turbo failure is most commonly caused by inadequate lubrication — whether due to poor-quality oil, missed oil changes, or a blocked oil filter. Before fitting, always check the oil circuit, the condition of the hoses, the intercooler and air intake, and ensure there are no leaks on the intake circuit. After installation, it is essential to prime the turbo with oil before the first start, and avoid running the engine at high revs during the first few kilometres to protect the new part.
