The engine code stamped on the block determines the exact turbo for each Skoda

On Skoda models, the same engine capacity can take very different turbos depending on the engine code. A 2.0 TDI 140 hp with code AZV, BKD or BKP does not share the same turbo reference as a 2.0 TDI 140 hp carrying the codes CBAA, CBAB, CBDA or CBDB — two distinct families, two distinct turbos. The same logic applies to the 2.0 TDI 170: codes BMN and CBBB correspond to one version, whilst CEGA and CFGB may cover another, and the 4x4 variant adds yet CFJA and CLLA. Before searching, locate your engine code on the block or on the registration document (VIN position).

Diesel: the diversity of TDI generations on the Octavia, Superb and Yeti

The Skoda diesel range spans from the 1.4 TDI (codes AMF, BAY, BHC, BMS, BNM, BNV, BWB) through to the 2.5 TDI V6 of the first-generation Superb (codes AFB, AKE, AKN, AYM, BAU, BCZ, BDG, BDH, BFC, BND). On the 1.9 TDI, power output alone is not enough to identify the part: the 110 hp carries the codes AHF or ASV, the 130 hp the code ASZ, and the 101 hp the codes AVB, BPZ or BSV. The variable-geometry turbos on these generations are prone to vane fouling, often made worse by a faulty EGR circuit or degraded oil — addressing the root cause before replacement prevents a swift recurrence. On more recent generations — the 2.0 TDI 150 hp (codes CKFC, CRMB, CYKA, DCYA, DFFA) found on the Octavia, Superb and Karoq — the variable-geometry turbo incorporates an electronic actuator; a gradual loss of power or the vehicle entering limp mode often points to the turbo even before electronic diagnostics are carried out.

Petrol: TSI and 1.8 T — configurations not to be confused

On the petrol side, the 1.2 TSI comes in 86 hp (code CBZA) and 105 hp (codes CBZB, CBZC), found notably on the Fabia and Roomster. The 1.4 TSI 140/150 hp covers the codes CHPA, CHPB, CPTA, CZDA, CZEA — a common engine on the Octavia and Rapid. The 1.4 TSI RS 180 hp version (code CAVE) uses a specific turbo, different from the 140/150 hp units despite the identical engine capacity. The older 1.8 T from the first-generation Octavia comes in 2 distinct codes: AWT (150 hp) and AUQ (180 hp), with different turbo references. On these fixed-geometry turbocharged petrol engines, common symptoms include whistling at mid-range revs and blue smoke on acceleration — signs of bearing wear or a sealing fault. All turbos listed here are new, sold as a straightforward sale.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the turbo new or reconditioned?

The turbos on this page are new. Each product page states the original manufacturer reference and its equivalent references for your Skoda.

What warranty comes with the turbo?

Every turbo is guaranteed for 12 months, provided it is fitted by a professional. The warranty covers the part; labour is not included. Before fitting, the cause of the previous failure (lubrication, oil feed, intake leak, EGR / DPF clogging) must be fixed.

Do I need to send back my old turbo?

No. The turbos on this page are new and sold as a straight sale: nothing to send back, your old turbo stays with you and there is one single delivery.

How do I make sure I order the right turbo for my Skoda?

Compatibility depends on the engine code and the reference stamped on your turbo, not just on the model. Enter your number plate or request a quote: our advisers confirm the exact reference before you order. You can pay in up to 10 instalments.
