On the Octavia, the same engine capacity can conceal up to five distinct engine codes — and just as many mutually incompatible turbos

This is the classic pitfall with this model: ordering a turbo based on engine capacity alone risks receiving a part that is physically different from the original. Only the engine code — stamped on the block and shown on the vehicle registration document in field P5 — guarantees an exact match, regardless of the engine in question.

The Octavia features twelve turbocharged engines in its line-up, split between diesel and petrol. On the diesel side, the 1.9 TDI comes in six distinct power outputs (90, 100, 105, 110, 130 hp) with engine codes such as AGR, ALH, AHF, ASV, ATD, AUY, ASZ, BJB, BKC, BLS, BXE — each paired with a specific turbo geometry. Some codes appear across two different power outputs (AHF and ASV cover both the 110 hp and the 100/110 hp variants depending on the data sheet), which means cross-referencing both the power output and the engine code is essential before placing any order.

2.0 TDI and 1.6 TDI: more recent families, but equally segmented

The 2.0 TDI comes in four variants: 136/140 hp (codes AZV, BKD, BKP, CFHC, CLCB), 150 hp (CKFC, CRMB, CYKA, DCYA, DFFA), 170 hp (BMN, CEGA) and 170 hp in the CFFA/CFFB version. These four groups do not share the same turbo. The 1.6 TDI 105 hp (code CAYC) stands alone in its category and must not be confused with the 1.9 TDI engines of similar output.

Petrol: 1.4 TSI and 1.8 T — two different induction systems

On the petrol side, the 1.4 TSI 140/150 hp (codes CHPA, CHPB, CPTA, CZDA, CZEA) uses a fixed-geometry turbo with a wastegate, which is susceptible to fouling if the oil has degraded or oil changes have been left too long. The 1.8 T 180 hp (code AUQ) is an entirely different architecture and uses a turbo that bears no relation to the 1.4 TSI. On both petrol and diesel engines, an air leak upstream of the compressor or a faulty lubrication circuit are the most common causes of turbo failure: before any replacement, diagnosing the root cause is essential to avoid damaging the new part. All turbos listed on this page are new parts, sold with no old unit to return.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the turbo new or reconditioned?

The turbos on this page are new. Each product page states the original manufacturer reference and its equivalent references for your Skoda Octavia Turbo.

What warranty comes with the turbo?

Every turbo is guaranteed for 12 months, provided it is fitted by a professional. The warranty covers the part; labour is not included. Before fitting, the cause of the previous failure (lubrication, oil feed, intake leak, EGR / DPF clogging) must be fixed.

Do I need to send back my old turbo?

No. The turbos on this page are new and sold as a straight sale: nothing to send back, your old turbo stays with you and there is one single delivery.

How do I make sure I order the right turbo for my Skoda Octavia Turbo?

Compatibility depends on the engine code and the reference stamped on your turbo, not just on the model. Enter your number plate or request a quote: our advisers confirm the exact reference before you order. You can pay in up to 10 instalments.
