Exchange basis and warranty on this Sharan turbo

This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, return of your old turbo is required, but it is only collected after delivery and fitting of the new part, so your Sharan is not off the road any longer than necessary. The part carries a 12-month parts warranty, subject to fitting by a qualified professional. Payment can be spread over multiple instalments, in up to 10 instalments.

Common causes of failure and fitting precautions on the 1.9 TDI

On AUY and BVK engines, turbo service life depends heavily on the quality and frequency of engine oil changes, as well as the condition of the air filter and intercooler: a blocked filter or inadequate lubrication accelerates bearing wear. Before fitting, check that the oil circuit is in good condition (feed and return hoses), that there are no air intake leaks, and that all clips are correctly tightened. When starting up, prime the turbo with oil before running the engine, to ensure immediate bearing lubrication from the first revolutions.
