RHK, RHX, RHR, RHH, 9HU or 9H07: which Scudo engine code takes which gearbox?

On the Scudo produced from 2007 to 2016, it is the engine code stamped on the block — not just the engine capacity — that determines the compatible gearbox. Two engine families cover the range: the 2.0 units (Multijet, Multijet/HDi and JTD) and the 1.6 Multijet, each with its own codes and its own gearbox.

2.0 units: five codes, two different gearboxes

The 2.0 JTD carries the code RHX and takes a 5-speed manual. The 2.0 Multijet/HDi, identified solely by the code RHK, moves up to a 6-speed manual. The 2.0 Multijet covers three distinct codes — RHH, RHK and RHR — all paired with the 6-speed manual, but the gearbox references are not identical from one code to the next. A Scudo 2.0 Multijet with code RHK does not necessarily take the same unit as an RHR: checking the code before placing any order is essential to avoid a reference error.

1.6 Multijet: codes 9HU and 9H07 (DV6UC), 5-speed manual

The 1.6 Multijet is identified by the codes 9HU and 9H07 (DV6UC), an engine shared with PSA across this segment. The associated gearbox is a 5-speed manual, structurally different from those fitted to the 2.0 units. This engine was introduced later in the Scudo range and covers mainly the second half of the 2007–2016 period. The engine code remains the only reliable reference for confirming compatibility, particularly because certain production years saw several engine variants coexist in Fiat and PSA catalogues under very similar names.
