The same engine capacity — the 2.0, for instance — can correspond to engine codes LF-VE, P5-VPS or PE-VPS depending on the generation and model: these units do not share the same gearbox. On the RX-8, the 13B-MSP rotary engine requires a specific manual gearbox with no equivalent elsewhere in the range. Checking the engine code stamped on the block itself — rather than relying solely on the model catalogue — is therefore the only reliable way to ensure your order is directed to the correct reference.
