Reconditioned Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi Gearbox

Three K9K engine codes for a single 6-speed manual gearbox: what this means for replacement

The Qashqai 1.5 dCi is built around three variants of the K9K block — K9K282, K9K430 and K9K636 — covering model years 2007 to 2018. All are paired with a 6-speed manual, but these references cannot simply be swapped without checking: the engine code determines gearbox compatibility. On this diesel, the symptoms that precede failure are often gradual — stiff changes on the lower gears, a bearing noise when cold, play in reverse — and can be mistaken for selector cable wear before the gearbox itself is implicated.

Before placing any order, reading the engine code stamped on the block is the only way to ensure the correct match. EDEN BOITES offers these gearboxes on an exchange basis for the 2007–2018 range across all three listed K9K codes.
