Juke 2010–2019: 5-speed or 6-speed gearbox depending on the engine

On the first-generation Juke, the transmission is exclusively manual — no automatic or dual-clutch version is listed in this collection. The key distinction lies in the number of ratios: the 1.6 naturally aspirated (HR16DE) comes with a 5-speed gearbox, whereas all other engines — the 1.5 dCi, the 1.2 Turbo and the 1.6 DIG-T Nismo RS — are paired with a 6-speed gearbox. These two families are not interchangeable, and mix-ups are common on a model whose commercial names vary without the transmission architecture changing fundamentally.

Diesel and turbocharged petrol: four K9K variants, two HR12 codes

The 1.5 dCi covers four distinct engine codes: K9K 410, K9K 636, K9K 646 and K9K 896. These variants reflect calibration and emissions updates over the years; the associated 6-speed gearbox may differ depending on the exact code stamped on the block, making it essential to verify the engine code before placing any order. On the turbocharged petrol side, the 1.2 Turbo comes in HR12DDT and HRA2DDT — two codes for the same engine capacity, but with genuine technical differences between the two generations.

The Nismo RS case: MR16DDT and a specific 6-speed gearbox

The 1.6 DIG-T Nismo RS (engine code MR16DDT) is the most powerful engine in the Juke range during this period. It shares the 6-speed format with the 1.5 dCi and the 1.2 Turbo, but the gearbox is not interchangeable with those units due to different torque outputs and gear ratios. The naturally aspirated 1.6 HR16DE, more commonly found in entry-level versions, retains a separate 5-speed architecture. Checking the engine code and the original reference is the only way to ensure exact compatibility.
