Heavy urban driving, repeated starts, and frequent clutch use in slow-moving traffic: the typical use of a Toyota Auris compact places very different demands on the manual gearbox compared with a road saloon. On the 1ND-TV, the sole 1.4 D-4D engine code found in the Auris from 2006 to 2012, it is usually synchromesh and selector fork wear that shows up first — stiff gear changes, refusal to engage first or reverse, and noise on cold start.

Five or six speeds: a distinction that determines the reference

Depending on the trim level and year of manufacture, the Auris 1.4 D-4D was fitted with either a 5-speed or a 6-speed gearbox — two mechanically distinct families, each with their own references in the form 30300-XXXXX. Both configurations are available in this collection. Before placing an order, checking the reference on the casing of the original gearbox is the only way to avoid a compatibility error.

Two service options available

The units in this collection are available either on an exchange basis or as a rebuild of your own gearbox. This second option, where your unit is reconditioned and returned to you, may be of interest if your gearbox carries a rare reference or if the vehicle has undergone specific modifications.
