1.9 TDI 90 hp or 150 hp: every turbo available here is new — none are reconditioned

Every turbo in this collection is sold new, regardless of the power output — 90, 105, 110, 115, 130 or 150 hp. There is no reconditioned option here. A new turbo is supplied directly, with no old unit to return.

Six power outputs, distinct engine codes

The 1.9 TDI in the Leon covers a wide range, and the stated power output alone is not enough to identify the correct turbo: it is the engine code stamped on the block that matters. The codes AGR and ALH correspond to the 90 hp in its original version. The 90–105 hp group covers a much broader set of codes: AGR, AHF, AJM, ALH, ASV, ATD, AVQ, BEW, BJB, BKC, BLS, BRU, BXE, BXF, BXJ — each may point to a different reference. The 110–115 hp is covered by AJM, AUY, BVK; the 130 hp by ASZ; the 150 hp by ARL. A 90 hp version carrying the code BXE does not use the same turbo as a 90 hp version carrying AGR: cross-referencing the power output with the engine code is essential before placing any order.

Failure causes to address before replacement

On this diesel engine, turbo failure most commonly follows identifiable patterns: degraded oil or a blocked lubrication circuit, EGR fouling carrying soot into the intake, or a foreign body ingested on the compressor side. The usual symptoms are persistent blue or black smoke, a characteristic whistling noise under acceleration, a noticeable loss of power, or the engine entering limp mode. Fitting a new turbo without having diagnosed and resolved the root cause will invariably lead to another premature failure.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the turbo new or reconditioned?

The turbos on this page are new. Each product page states the original manufacturer reference and its equivalent references for your SEAT Leon 1.9 TDI Turbo.

What warranty comes with the turbo?

Every turbo is guaranteed for 12 months, provided it is fitted by a professional. The warranty covers the part; labour is not included. Before fitting, the cause of the previous failure (lubrication, oil feed, intake leak, EGR / DPF clogging) must be fixed.

Do I need to send back my old turbo?

No. The turbos on this page are new and sold as a straight sale: nothing to send back, your old turbo stays with you and there is one single delivery.

How do I make sure I order the right turbo for my SEAT Leon 1.9 TDI Turbo?

Compatibility depends on the engine code and the reference stamped on your turbo, not just on the model. Enter your number plate or request a quote: our advisers confirm the exact reference before you order. You can pay in up to 10 instalments.
