This new turbo is sold on an exchange basis: return of the old turbo is required, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. It is only collected after the new turbo has been delivered and fitted, so your BMW Série 1 is not left off the road. A 12-month parts warranty applies, subject to fitting being carried out by a professional. Payment can be spread over up to 10 instalments.
Fitting advice for the 118d and 120d
Before installation, check the lubrication oil circuit, the condition of the hoses and the cleanliness of the air intake, as insufficient oil supply or a clogged air filter are common causes of premature turbo failure on these diesel engines. Also inspect the intercooler, which is essential for properly cooling the intake air on the B47D20A. When starting up, prime the turbo with oil before the first engine start to ensure immediate lubrication of the bearings. Driving gently during the first few kilometres, without excessive demands, will help maximise the longevity of the new turbo fitted to your BMW Série 1.
