Not sure you've found the right part?
Why does the turbo on the BMW Série 5 (F10) 518d/520d wear out prematurely?
On the 1995 cm³ Diesel engines fitted with the B47 D20 A and N47 D20 C blocks, turbocharger failure is most commonly caused by a lubrication fault: old engine oil, missed oil changes or a clogged oil filter disrupt bearing rotation and accelerate wear. A blocked air filter or a dirty intercooler also restrict the flow of clean air, upsetting boost pressure and putting premature strain on the turbine. Aggressive rev increases without a warm-up phase, or switching the engine off immediately after hard use, make these problems worse on the Série 5.

Fitting advice for your Série 5 turbo
Before installation, check the oil circuit and the condition of the hoses and air intake to avoid any contamination of the new turbo. Pre-lubricating with oil at start-up is essential to ensure immediate bearing lubrication from the moment the engine fires. Remember also to replace the oil filter and check the intercooler to protect the longevity of this new turbo on your BMW Série 5.
