K9K diesel vs H5F and H5H petrol: two engine families, sixteen engine codes for the Duster from 2010 to 2024

The engine code is the first thing to check before placing any order. On the Duster, three engine options exist — 1.5 dCi, 1.2 TCe and 1.3 TCe — but it is the exact variant of the code that determines the compatible part. The 1.5 dCi alone covers twelve variants of the K9K block: K9K628, K9K658, K9K724, K9K802, K9K808, K9K820, K9K858, K9K892, K9K 898, K9K_666, K9K_856 and K9K_896. These codes are not interchangeable; a mix-up will result in an incompatible part even if the engine capacity is the same.

1.2 TCe and 1.3 TCe: two distinct petrol blocks that must not be confused

The 1.2 TCe is associated with the codes H5F_404 and H5F_410, whilst the 1.3 TCe uses the codes H5H_470 and H5H_494. These two petrol engine families are physically different and are not interchangeable in any way. Confusion is common because both engines were offered on the Duster across different production years; only the code stamped on the block can settle the matter.

What each sales option covers in this collection

The engines listed here are bare engines: ancillaries, turbo, alternator and starter motor are not included and must be reused or ordered separately. Two sales options are available depending on the reference: the standard exchange and a rebuilt-to-0-km option. This distinction is noted on each product page and affects both the lead time and the level of reconditioning of the block supplied.
