CCZB, CULC or CJXA: which engine code determines which gearbox on the Leon 2.0 TSI?

On the Leon 2.0 TSI from 2006 to 2020, three engine codes coexist and each was paired with different transmissions. The CCZB (200 hp, fitted to the Mk2 and Mk3 Cupra generations) is paired with the DSG 6 wet dual-clutch gearbox. The CJXA (280 hp, Leon Mk3 Cupra from 2014) also receives a DSG 6, but in a reinforced version designed to handle the higher torque. The CULC covers more road-oriented variants and can be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Using the engine code stamped on the block — rather than the engine capacity or quoted power output alone — is therefore essential for identifying the correct reference.

DSG 6 on the 2.0 TSI: an important point regarding the mechatronic unit

The DSG 6 (wet dual-clutch gearbox, DQ250 family) is known for mechatronic module failures that are distinct from internal mechanical failures. The gearbox offered here is sold without the mechatronic unit, with a new dual-clutch. If your diagnostic points to the mechatronic unit, that is a separate part. For the 6-speed manual, references vary according to power output and year of manufacture; gearbox codes QSR, SGD, KPA, RHP and SYS, among others, are not interchangeable between engine codes — always check the code stamped on the gearbox casing before placing an order.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a gearbox for this SEAT model in stock?

We currently list 10 references reconditioned for this model. Availability depends on the exact engine: enter your number plate to confirm stock in real time, or request an online quote.

How can I be sure it is compatible with my SEAT?

Compatibility depends on the engine / gearbox code, not just the model. The most reliable way is your number plate or registration document: our advisers confirm the right gearbox for your vehicle before you order.

Do I need to send back my old unit?

Yes, that is the principle of an exchange unit: you return your old gearbox (the core), which we recondition in turn. We arrange transport both ways, so you don't have to handle any logistics.

How long does it take to receive the gearbox for my SEAT?

Once compatibility is confirmed and depending on the availability of the reference, the part leaves our workshop ready to fit, delivered throughout France and Europe, with payment in instalments available (up to 10 payments).

Available gearbox references: QSR, SGD, KPA, RHP, SQV, SYS, PNS, LMN, KZS, KNU
