Dacia from 2004 to 2026: how the range shifted from all-manual to multiple TCe and dCi units

On the first Dacia models sold in France, the 5-speed manual gearbox was virtually universal, whether on the Logan or the original Sandero. That gradually changed: the arrival of the Duster, followed by the Lodgy and the Dokker, multiplied the engine-gearbox combinations, while the petrol engines moved on from the 1.2 naturally aspirated (D4F) and the 1.4 (K7J) to turbocharged units: the 0.9 TCe (H4B), 1.2 TCe (H5F), 1.0 TCe (H4D) and 1.3 TCe (H5H). On the diesel side, the K9K 1.5 dCi came in around thirty code variants depending on output and generation, ranging from 65 hp to 110 hp 4x4. There are no automatic or dual-clutch gearboxes in this collection: every gearbox listed is a 5- or 6-speed manual, which simplifies the choice but does not remove the need for precise identification.

Engines: three petrol families, one dominant diesel

The 53 engines in the catalogue cover the entire period. The K4M and K7M (1.6) units are fitted notably to the first-generation Duster in naturally aspirated form; their codes K4M 606, K4M 690, K4M 842 and K4M 896 are not interchangeable from one model year to the next. The 1.5 dCi (K9K) alone accounts for the majority of diesel references: depending on whether the vehicle produces 65, 68, 75, 90 or 110 hp, the exact code varies — K9K 700, K9K 792, K9K 856, K9K 898… — and determines which part to order. The turbos listed (10 units) relate exclusively to these dCi and TCe units; they are available new or reconditioned depending on the engine.

Gearboxes: JR5, JH3 and TL4 — the three families to tell apart

The 34 gearboxes cover the Duster, Sandero, Logan, Lodgy and Dokker models. The JR5 references (JR5083, JR5316, JR5346) correspond to the 5-speed manuals fitted to first-generation dCi engines, whilst the TL4 and TL8 units (TL4361, TL4075, TL8005) are paired with TCe petrol engines and certain 6-speed versions of the Duster. The reference JH3084 covers specific configurations that should be verified using the engine code stamped on the block. All these gearboxes are available on an exchange basis; some are also offered as a rebuild of the customer's own unit, depending on the model and the condition of the original.

    Frequently asked questions

Are your Dacia parts compatible with my model?

We cover the vast majority of Dacia engines. To get the exact part, give us your number plate or request an online quote: our advisers confirm compatibility using your registration document.

    Are reconditioned Dacia parts reliable?

Yes. Every Dacia part is reconditioned in our workshop, with wear parts replaced, bench-tested and guaranteed for up to 24 months. A reliable and far more affordable alternative to new, starting from a restored original part.

How does the exchange system work for a Dacia part?

You order your reconditioned Dacia part, we dispatch it, then you send us back your old unit (the core). We arrange all the transport both ways — you don't have to handle any logistics.

Do you deliver Dacia parts everywhere, and how quickly?

Yes, we deliver throughout France and Europe. Depending on the availability of the reference, your Dacia part leaves our workshop quickly, and you can pay in instalments, up to 10 payments.
