On the 5008, three engine options, three different gearbox configurations

The most common pitfall on this model concerns the 1.6 HDi: depending on the year and engine code, the 5008 comes with either a standard 6-speed manual (code 9HZ, DV6TED4), or a BMP6 automated manual gearbox (codes 9HR or 9HC, both DV6C). These two gearbox types are physically incompatible with each other, and the 1.6 engine capacity alone is not enough to tell them apart. Only the engine code, visible on the identification plate of the block, can settle the matter.

2.0 HDi and 1.2 PureTech: more straightforward configurations

The 2.0 HDi (codes RHE and RHH) is always paired with a 6-speed manual, with no automated variant on this model. The same logic applies on the petrol side: the 1.2 PureTech (codes HN01, HN05, HNS), introduced on later versions of the 5008 from the second generation onwards, is fitted exclusively with a 6-speed manual. For both these engines, the engine code remains useful for confirming exact compatibility, as gearbox references can differ between codes within the same engine capacity.

BMP6: what buying an automated manual gearbox involves

The BMP6 gearboxes in this collection are sold without the actuator unit. This electrohydraulic component, specific to each vehicle, is not included. The parts available here cover the period 2009–2024 and are offered either on an exchange basis or as a rebuild of the customer's own unit, depending on the reference — two distinct options that do not follow the same logistical process.
