Three engine families, codes that are not interchangeable

The 2.3 D 126 hp carries the code F1AE0481V, for instance, which differs from the F1AE0481U of the 2.3 D 136 hp: two similar codes, two non-interchangeable parts. The same logic applies to the 3.0: the F1CE0481FA appears on both the 3.0 Multijet and the 3.0 HPT, while the F1CFL411F is specific to the 3.0 HPI 170 hp. The code stamped on the engine block remains the only reliable reference for ordering the correct gearbox or bare engine.
