On this generation of the 3008, the 2.0 HDi engine covers six engine codes — AHR, AHZ, RH02, TXWA, UFDA, UFDB — all from the DW10 family. The well-known weak points of this family are premature wear of the timing chain tensioner, which can lead to chain jump and internal engine damage, as well as severe clogging of the EGR valve and intake circuit, promoting piston ring coking. Both of these wear mechanisms frequently result in a written-off engine rather than a straightforward repair.

The engine code stamped on the block is the only reliable criterion for identifying the exact reference: at the same engine capacity, codes UFDA and UFDB correspond to distinct internal revisions from codes AHR or AHZ, and parts are not interchangeable between codes.
