On the diesel Boxer, the engine code is the only reference that prevents an incorrect order

From 2006 to 2021, the Boxer was fitted with six distinct diesel engines, each available in several engine codes that do not refer to the same part. Going by engine capacity alone — 2.2 or 2.0 — is not enough: a Boxer 2.2 HDi can be fitted with a 22DT_4HH, a DW12RUD, a DRFA, a CYF5, or even a UHFA, depending on the year and variant. These are engines from different families and cannot be substituted for one another. The engine code is stamped directly on the block and is the essential starting point for any identification.

The 2.2 HDi accounts for the majority of codes and the widest variety of engine blocks

With more than thirty referenced codes — including the 22DT, DW12, CYF, DRF, CVF, SRF, UHF families and others — the 2.2 HDi is by far the most widely represented engine in this range. The 2.2 HDi 120 variant is identified by the single code 4HU, and the 2.2 BlueHDi 120 by the code 4HK / DW12RUE: two similar-sounding names, two engine blocks that are not interchangeable.

2.0 HDi, 2.0 BlueHDi and 3.0 HDi 160: unique codes not to be confused with the 2.2

The 2.0 HDi engines cover five distinct DW10 codes: DW10FUC, DW10FUC_AHP, DW10FUD_AHN, DW10FUE_AHM and DW10UTED, each corresponding to a specific variant. The 2.0 BlueHDi is referenced under the single code 10DYZZ. As for the 3.0 HDi 160, it carries the code F1CE0481D / F30DT: a larger-capacity engine block, typical of heavier-duty versions and cab-chassis configurations with a high payload rating, with no mechanical commonality with the 2.0 or 2.2. All engines offered here are bare engines.
