Reconditioned Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI Engine

Q: How can I be sure it is compatible with my Volkswagen?

Compatibility depends on the engine / gearbox code, not just the model. The most reliable way is your number plate or registration document: our advisers confirm the right engine for your vehicle before you order.

Q: Do I need to send back my old unit?

Yes, that is the principle of an exchange unit: you return your old engine (the core), which we recondition in turn. We arrange transport both ways, so you don't have to handle any logistics.

7 reconditioned references on an exchange basis, from €3159 to €3668 — up to 24 months' warranty, delivery across France & Europe.

Rebuild or exchange your Golf 1.6 TDI engine: which option suits your situation?

The range covers seven engine codes — CLHA, CRKB, DCXA, DBKA, CXXB, DDYA, DDYB — spanning the 2009–2020 period, across several Golf generations. This proliferation of codes for a single engine capacity means one block cannot simply be substituted for another without prior verification: compatibility is determined by the stamped engine code, not by the 1.6 TDI designation alone.

The sales method available here is exchange on a bare engine basis. Rebuilding your own unit, which is not part of this catalogue, may make sense when the original block has a precise service history or a rare configuration — particularly for certain more recent codes such as DDYA or DDYB — but this is a separate process to be discussed directly with EDEN BOITES.
