Reconditioned Volkswagen Eos 1.4 TSI Gearbox

Q: How can I be sure it is compatible with my Volkswagen?

Compatibility depends on the engine / gearbox code, not just the model. The most reliable way is your number plate or registration document: our advisers confirm the right gearbox for your vehicle before you order.

Q: Do I need to send back my old unit?

Yes, that is the principle of an exchange unit: you return your old gearbox (the core), which we recondition in turn. We arrange transport both ways, so you don't have to handle any logistics.

5 reconditioned references on an exchange basis, from €1068 to €1389 — up to 24 months' warranty, delivery across France & Europe.

CAXA or CAVD: two engine codes, one 6-speed manual gearbox — but not for the same years

On the Eos 1.4 TSI, it is the engine code stamped on the block that determines the compatible gearbox reference. The CAXA and the CAVD are two variants of the 1.4 TSI found across the 2006–2015 period, and their gearboxes, although both 6-speed units, are not interchangeable. The gearbox references identified within this range — NBX, NBW, LHY, KWB, KRG — correspond to precise pairings based on the engine code.

First and foremost, locate this code directly on the engine: neither the year shown on the registration document nor the engine capacity is sufficient to distinguish between the two variants. A CAXA and a CAVD can both appear on Eos vehicles from the same production year, fitted with mutually incompatible gearboxes.
