Eos 2.0 TDI: a gearbox worked like that of a long-distance saloon, but in a cabriolet weighed down by its roof?

The Eos is no ordinary cabriolet: its retractable hard top adds structural weight that feeds directly through to the transmission. Used primarily on fast roads and for touring, this coupé-cabriolet subjects its gearbox to sustained engine speeds and frequent bursts of acceleration. When the mechanicals give way, replacement is rarely straightforward.

Manual or DSG: two transmissions, three engine codes

The 2.0 TDI in the Eos (2006–2015) comes in three engine codes: BMM, CBAB and CFFB. These codes directly determine the compatible gearbox: 6-speed manual references (LNZ, KDN, NGB, NJK…) and DSG 6 references (JPJ, HXS, HQL, HFQ…) are not universally interchangeable from one code to another. The year of manufacture alone is not enough: two Eos 2.0 TDI from the same year can take different gearboxes depending on the engine code.

DSG 6: supplied without mechatronic unit

The DSG 6 listed on this page is supplied without the mechatronic unit and with a new dual-clutch assembly included. If your diagnosis points to a mechatronic module fault, this component must be dealt with separately. For the manual gearbox, checking the engine code stamped on the block remains the essential starting point before placing any order.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a gearbox for this Volkswagen model in stock?

We currently list 8 references reconditioned for this model. Availability depends on the exact engine: enter your number plate to confirm stock in real time, or request an online quote.

How can I be sure it is compatible with my Volkswagen?

Compatibility depends on the engine / gearbox code, not just the model. The most reliable way is your number plate or registration document: our advisers confirm the right gearbox for your vehicle before you order.

Do I need to send back my old unit?

Yes, that is the principle of an exchange unit: you return your old gearbox (the core), which we recondition in turn. We arrange transport both ways, so you don't have to handle any logistics.

How long does it take to receive the gearbox for my Volkswagen?

Once compatibility is confirmed and depending on the availability of the reference, the part leaves our workshop ready to fit, delivered throughout France and Europe, with payment in instalments available (up to 10 payments).
