Mitsubishi parts changed significantly between 1999 and 2021, particularly around the 3.2 DI-D block and the transition to the uprated 2.5 DI-D.

Across all the models covered here — L200, Pajero, Outlander, ASX, Colt, Spacewagon — the most significant technical shift came at the turn of the 2000–2005 period, with the rise of the4M41(3.2 DI-D) on the Pajero and the top-of-the-range L200, while the4D56(2.5 TD then 2.5 DI-D) itself evolved through several variants — 4D56T, 4D56TD, 4D56HP, 4D5CDI — with outputs ranging from 115 hp to 133 hp depending on the generation. These engine codes are not trivial: a gearbox or turbo designed for an early 4D56 will not necessarily suit a post-2006 4D56HP. The year of manufacture and the exact code stamped on the block remain the only valid means of identification.

Turbos first, gearboxes and transfer cases to complement

The spread of the catalogue reflects real-world experience: the turbo is the most frequently replaced component on these diesel engines, across all models. References cover both reconditioned turbos and new turbos, depending on availability and engine type. Gearboxes — 5- or 6-speed manuals — relate primarily to the L200 and Pajero, with codes such as the4M40(2.8 TD, older-generation Pajero) or the4N14(2.2 DI-D, L200 and Outlander post-2012). Transfer cases, less common, apply to full-time 4-wheel drive versions. Three bare engines round out the catalogue, covering mainly heavy diesel blocks.

Key points to check by model and engine type

The 3.2 DI-D offered in 160, 165 and 170 hp outputs illustrates the difficulty of identification well: three power levels sharing the same 4M41 code, yet with different mappings and turbos. On the Outlander and ASX, the4N13(1.8 DI-D, 116 or 150 hp) and the 4N14 (2.2 DI-D) share a common architecture but different parts. The 2.4 MIVEC (4G69) covers the petrol versions of the first-generation Outlander. Always check the full engine code before ordering to avoid compatibility errors — a particularly common pitfall on L200s produced between 2006 and 2015, where several variants of the 4D56 followed one another with no visible change to the bodywork.

    Frequently asked questions

Are your Mitsubishi parts compatible with my model?

We cover the vast majority of Mitsubishi engines. To get the exact part, give us your number plate or request an online quote: our advisers confirm compatibility using your registration document.

    Are reconditioned Mitsubishi parts reliable?

Yes. Every Mitsubishi part is reconditioned in our workshop, with wear parts replaced, bench-tested and guaranteed for up to 24 months. A reliable and far more affordable alternative to new, starting from a restored original part.

How does the exchange system work for a Mitsubishi part?

You order your reconditioned Mitsubishi part, we dispatch it, then you send us back your old unit (the core). We arrange all the transport both ways — you don't have to handle any logistics.

Do you deliver Mitsubishi parts everywhere, and how quickly?

Yes, we deliver throughout France and Europe. Depending on the availability of the reference, your Mitsubishi part leaves our workshop quickly, and you can pay in instalments, up to 10 payments.
