One engine code, three possible gearboxes

Across the entire 2008–2017 production run, the Scirocco 2.0 TSI uses exclusively the engine code CCZB (200 hp). This unit was paired with three distinct transmissions: the DSG 6 (DQ250, wet clutch), the DSG 7 (DQ500, wet clutch, on the more powerful or later variants) and the 6-speed manual. The exact reference — from codes such as LTL, QLT, NLT, NJP or LRK — depends on the year of manufacture and the transmission fitted at the factory. Confusing the DSG 6 and DSG 7 results in an incompatible unit: the casings, shafts and mountings differ.

Key points to watch with the CCZB in sporting use

On the DSG 6 under intensive use, the wet clutch discs and differential are the most well-documented wear areas. The 6-speed manual has a known weakness in 2nd–3rd gear changes at higher mileages. The gearboxes offered here are sold without the mechatronic unit for DSG variants; the original mechatronic unit, if it is in good condition, is reused. Two options are available depending on the condition of your current unit: sending an exchange unit or reconditioning your own gearbox.
